Compass is a non-denominational network of “microchurches” or house churches

that meet in homes, dorms, cafes, offices … anywhere people gather to journey together in their common faith. We lend support and training for leadership and provide larger worship gathering events for the equipping and encouragement of followers of Jesus. We don’t have big buildings, budgets, and programs because we believe the kingdom is built in the streets by those who are willing to give up the palace.

Compass is committed to reaching our culture with the message and love of Jesus.

We are the church in transition, re-evaluating our methods in light of the changing climate of the culture around us; but we remain firmly committed to the same ancient mission that was given to the followers of Jesus Christ more than 2000 years ago.

Speaking directly to his most faithful followers in Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you.” And then just a few days later, to the same group of faithful, He said, “And you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of all the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

In order to lead those who seek true spiritual faith to become followers of Jesus we have purposed to be culturally relevant and missional in our everyday lives; in the workplace, on the block where we live, and on the campuses where we learn.

We are convinced that the church is the people not the building. So we say, “The kingdom is built in the streets by those who are willing to give up the palace.”

Furthermore, we acknowledge that the culture in which we live is changing and their opinion of the conventional/traditional church has become suspect at best. We are committed to changing that worldview by presenting a faith in our lives that is real; not just about attending church services, but about a real relationship with Jesus Christ – living and loving like Him.
